It all started with a simple idea: creating the perfect sun hat for my kids.

As a mom, I wanted something beautiful, practical, and thoughtfully made — a hat that would actually stay on, grow with my child, and offer real protection from the sun. But finding that kind of hat wasn’t easy. So, with the unwavering support of my mother, countless phone calls, a few flops, and plenty of tea, we decided to make it ourselves.

What began as a homemade solution quickly became a passion project — and eventually, a small business built on love, quality, and care.

Every Spiekeriesh hat is designed to protect little faces from the harsh African sun, while keeping kids comfy and cute. Our hats are size-adjustable, thoughtfully made to grow with your child from baby to toddler years, and created with breathable, natural cotton that’s gentle on young skin.

What makes Spiekeriesh special is the story stitched into every hat: the hands-on process, the family effort, and the joy of seeing little ones safe and smiling. Whether it’s their first trip to the beach, a garden playdate, or a walk in the park — we’re honoured to be a small part of those sunny memories.
